SLFNHA COVID-19 Update: Cases in Neskantaga & Lac Seul FN – May 14, 2021

Lac Seul First Nation

The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA) has been notified that there are five additional cases of COVID in Lac Seul First Nation. There are thirty-seven (37) individuals isolating in the community, three (3) isolating in Sioux Lookout and one individual isolating in Winnipeg. This brings the total community case count to forty-one (41).

Neskantaga First Nation

The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA) has been notified that there are two (2) cases of COVID in Neskantaga First Nation. One is a presumptive case and the other is a positive case. Individuals are isolating in the community at this time.

Case and contact management have started and the SLFNHA Preventing Infectious Diseases (PID) team will monitor the situation and support the community. We must continue to remain vigilant in our efforts to keep the virus out of the communities.
