Administrative Assistant (JMK 2)

The JMK 2 Administrative Assistant is responsible for overseeing all administrative support and office services for the JMK 2. This includes coordinating and communicating office activities, staff scheduling, assist in planning and organizing of operations, health and safety regulations and general office trouble shooting.



  • Minimum Grade 12 and/or post-secondary education in Office and/or Health Administration
  • Experience working with Microsoft office products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Ability to speak one or more of the First Nations dialects of the Sioux Lookout District will be an asset
  • Knowledge of the people and culture of the First Nations communities in the Sioux Lookout district
  • Active CPR & First Aid a definite asset



  •    General administrative duties such as: correspondence, compiling reports, photocopying, scanning, and faxing
  •    Provide administrative support services for JMK 2 team
  •    Plan and organize meetings for JMK 2 management including teleconferences
  •    Attend meetings; take, distribute and archive meeting minutes as required
  •    Assist in development and implementation of new JMK 2 policies
  •    Help develop resource material for JMK 2
  •    Code and obtain approvals and manage all JMK 2 invoices
  •    Act as a resource person for the JMK 2 to respond to requests from internal and external sources
  •    Undertake and complete research assignments as requested
  •    Assist JMK 2 Team Leaders with bi-weekly timesheet submissions
  •    Prepare minutes, reports, proposals, work plans, memo’s and letters
  •    Act as resource for building health and safety issues, and be an active member of the SLFNHA Health & Safety Committee
  •    Act as on-site privacy officer
  •    Work co-operatively with Team Leaders on completing monthly work schedules
  •    Other duties as assigned
