Director of Complex Care and Developmental Disabilities Services

The Director is responsible for the overall development and delivery of the Complex Care and Developmental Disabilities Services. The Director will provide outreach and linkages with other community based programs. The Director will provide leadership to ensure program objectives are met through overall planning, development, implementation, effective service delivery, collaboration, and ongoing evaluation of program activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Health Administration or Social Services is required
  • Master’s Degree, with a specialization in health and/or administration is an asset
  • 5 years previous health related experience with significant management and leadership expertise at the Director level
  • Experience in a project management capacity
  • Understanding of Health and Social Care Systems in a First Nations capacity
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and creative
  • Evidence of being able to operationalize a conceptual model to reality
  • The ability to function effectively during periods of rapid change and transition
  • Experience in Human Resources Management
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be willing to relocate and live in Sioux Lookout (or within a daily commuting distance).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support program and service development
  • Integrate existing and newly funded programs under one service delivery system
  • Plan and support office and equipment requirements
  • Work with SLFNHA Human Resources to recruit and maintain staffing
  • Liaise with First Nations communities, local hospital, federal and provincial programs and services, community agencies, and other organizations for the purpose of developing partnerships, support, referral, and community awareness
  • Work with the funders to adhere to reporting requirements
  • Budget development and monitor the finances of the department
  • Works collaboratively with the inter-professional team in the implementation and ongoing development of services
  • Participate in working groups or advisory committees
  • Facilitate the delivery of services to support communities in their capacity development to provide integrated and team-based care
  • In collaboration with the SLFNHA Finance Manager and Chief Operating Officer, participates in the annual negotiation with the Ministry and Health Canada regarding annual budget and operating plan
  • Prepare quarterly reports for financial and workload activity
  • Monitor and evaluate program development and operation, as appropriate and participate in the Quality Improvement Plan and identify opportunities to improve patient satisfaction
  • Establish  quality improvement plan and ensure that service targets are set and met
  • Participate in Senior Management meetings
